Celebrate spring in the Village of Granville by visiting the Granville Garden Club's 65th Annual Daffodil Show. This year's show features over 300 varieties of daffodils in specimen displays and floral designs depicting the show's theme "Art In Bloom". It is the club's aim to provide something for everyone including the science of daffodils, the elegance of bouquet, and whimsical thoughts of springtime.
Although plans for the event evolve over months, the actual show is assembled in just a few days. Members and volunteers carefully exchange the College Town House Victorian furnishings with display tables while others pick buckets full of daffodils for the show. On the morning of the event, members submit unique specimens while others complete floral designs.
Show visitors have the opportunity to order their own daffodil bulbs for planting in the fall. Granville Garden Club members are available to assist in selection. Easy to grow, daffodils are resistant to the elements and to hungry herbivores.
Established in 1931, the club's mission is to stimulate knowledge and love of gardening, to aid in the protection of native plants and wildlife, and to encourage civic beautification. Proceeds from this event help fund various club community beautification projects.
