Fremont Daffodil Festival (North Carolina)

March 28, 2009

The Fremont Daffodil Festival is always held on the last Saturday of March. This year, March 28 is the festival date. The website will have information about this year's festival as we near the spring months.

Here is a history lesson and an invitation to visit from the Fremont Daffodil Festival website: "In 1958, Bugs Barriger, a writer for the News & Observer, penned Fremont, "The Daffodil Town" in an article about Fremont's daffodil gardens. Several years later, the town began celebrating the arrival of spring and the blooming yellow flower by honoring it annually at "The Daffodil Festival." FUMC has participated in this free event by allowing the festival to use its grounds and its fellowship hall for displays and activities. Come visit us in Fremont, "The Daffodil Town." "

Here is a February 28, 2008 article from The Wilson Times about the upcoming festival circa 2008.

This 2006 Goldsboro News-Argus newspaper report of the event that year is a good wrap-up of festival events and atmosphere.
